An artist profile of a highly skilled visual artist, Andre Woolery. Post production for this video was completed by me in Austin and was filmed and directed by Victor AbiJaoudi II in NYC. Photographic stills were used to create the motion graphic design in After Effects.
"He calls it 'The Tackover' - a canvas pricked with over 7,000 thumbtacks that form a meditative image of hip-hop icon Jay-Z. Artist Andre Woolery utilises everyday objects to produce meticulously rendered renditions of black icons in pop culture. His Mixtape series, in which he also recreates images of Kanye West, Jimi Hendrix, President Barack Obama and a $100 bill, was curiously inspired by the colourful rings of breakfast cereal Fruit Loops." - Article excerpt from The Daily Mail by Jennifer Madison.

A three month time-lapse documenting the creation of the mural "The Atlas Detector" by Josef Kristofoletti. The Atlas Detector is painted on the CERN particle physics laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland which houses the worlds largest particle acceleration and research facility. This facility has garnered national attention for confirming the existence of the Higgs Boson particle, creating man-made black holes, and expanding the boundaries of what we understand about particle physics in general.
Designing and editing this project presented some unique challenges due to the nature of the project. In the parking lot of the CERN facility, there was an all-weather camera installed which captured a new frame every hour. Once the mural was finished and the footage was shipped across the ocean to me in Austin TX, I needed to cull trough all the frames and remove unwanted shots. From there I needed to stabilize each shot because the all-weather cam capturing the creation process was bumped from time to time. Then I needed to remove the fish-eye effect/reduce the angle of view which was distorting the scene and showing too much of the sky/parking lot. After that, I edited the time lapse using time ramping and then color corrected and color graded the finished video.

Currently, Kristofoletti is designing a mural for the Formula 1 race track in Austin TX that is meant to be viewed at 200 miles per hour. Learn more about the artist here.

Builders Update is the #1 source of new home inventory in the nation, with the most up-to-date and accurate information about to-be-built homes, condos and lots available. I designed and animated several videos explaining the core concepts of their business. Specifically, a series of nine motion graphic videos and a dozen how-to tutorial videos for the company. https://www.buildersupdate.com/ The process began with a script provided by the guys at BU which I then took and recorded a temp track with my voice. From there I started storyboarding and laying frames in sequence (similar to an animatic) to see what amount of motion and ideas can be conveyed within the given timeframe. Then we had a professional VO artist re-record the voice over while viewing my loose storyboards to pace herself. I took the finished track and began to illustrate the graphics in Adobe Illustrator and then animating them in Adobe After Effects. Once I was done with my main design/animation pass on a video, I sent it over to the BU team for feedback. We had one or two revisions at that point to make points clearer and then it was off to the next video. This was a fast paced project that helped me develop a more efficient workflow.
